I come from Herzebrock, a small village in Germany. 5 years ago I was working in an office from 9 to 5. I had just finished my apprenticeship and started a full-time job. My whole life had I been looking forward to this moment, where I have a stable income, a car and a home base. During this period, however, I realized that all these things didn’t make me happy. It truly felt like something was missing, so I quit my job, packed my essentials, sold my other belongings, and flew to Australia.
After some time enjoying this beautiful country, I came into contact with Hatha yoga. Aside from the physical exercise (asanas), yoga is about exploring your inner self through meditation and breathing exercises (Pranayama). Practicing yoga helped me so much that it became my daily routine and shortly after, I came to the conclusion that I also wanted to start teaching. This eventually led me to India where I got my degree as a yoga instructor.
After having travelled the world and completely changed my lifestyle, I was looking for a way to not only continue practicing yoga, but also broaden my knowledge about the core values that yoga holds, like sustainability, awareness, and nature. For this I moved to the Netherlands where I am now studying International Food & agribusiness. I hope to have aroused your interest and to see you soon in my class!
Namaste, Isabell
